I am Dr. Michael Klein, D.M.D. and I would appreciate your vote on November 4th, 2008 for school board trustee of the high school district.

Yes, the resume of the current Board of Trustees is long and impressive, but I believe adding a perspective to the board of trustees that includes success in the business world isn’t a bad thing.

Serving, Participating And Advocating For The Children

I have been an active part of our community for the past 13 years.

As a practicing dentist in the community I have been actively involved with my affiliations with community organizations and my ongoing sponsorships of AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization), LCYO(La Costa Youth Organization), Pop Warner Football, La Costa Canyon sports, and Class-Act (Arts programs for local elementary classrooms).

I’ve served successfully on the Board of the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce for the past 10 years and was the President from 2006-2008 and presently involved on the Executive level as immediate Past-President. I have also been a member of the board of Class-Act for the past several years and served as the President for 2004-2007.

The management skills I have developed serving others has helped me in finding consensus before executing important decisions that effect our children’s lives and futures. I bring to the board not only this experience but also empathy, active-listening skills and the knowledge, as well, that leaders cannot always be popular.

It really is all about the kids and I will always pursue the highest standards for our students and their well-being is always paramount in my mind.

I am a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. I also hold a B.S. in Medical Technology and Health Science. My wife of 18 Years,  Samantha and I have a son, Joshua and a daughter, Rebecca that will be students in the school district throughout the next six years.
